Marc Ley

Marc Ley is chief financial officer of the Irvine Company. Mr. Ley, who also serves as the Irvine Company’s group senior vice president of Finance, joined the company in 1999, initially serving as senior vice president of capital markets and then as chief investment officer. Mr. Ley is responsible for the company’s capital markets, corporate finance, project finance and public finance.

From 1987 to 1999, Mr. Ley was employed by Pacific Life Insurance Company in Newport Beach, where he established its Real Estate Capital Markets division. As director of that division, he led a team that developed a national reputation for expertise in all facets of real estate finance, both as a direct lender and a fixed-income money manager. Mr. Ley and his team were responsible for managing several multi-billion-dollar real estate-related institutional investment portfolios.

Mr. Ley is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) and the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association (CMSA). He also serves on the advisory boards of two local non-profit organizations.

He has a master's degree in real estate from the University of Wisconsin, where he was mentored by the late Dr. James A. Graaskamp. He also has bachelor's degrees in finance and in real estate from the same institution.
