Commitment to Our Community
The Irvine Company’s support of the communities it creates continues long after the last family moves into a new village or the doors open for business in a new neighborhood retail center. The company’s community commitment is diverse and far-reaching and is guided by a single overriding goal: to improve and sustain the quality of life for all residents.
For example, the company works closely with the city of Irvine to provide a range of affordable, subsidized housing for the city’s lower-income residents and also assists families who are struggling as a result of job losses or other unexpected life events. Over the years, the company has donated millions to support community organizations that are dedicated to helping people in such situations retain their dignity as they regain their financial footing and independence.
Among these organizations are Families Forward in Irvine, which provides temporary housing, financial counseling, food and other services to homeless families; HomeAid, a non-profit agency created by the Building Industry Association that builds shelters throughout Orange County for temporarily homeless families; and THINK Together, an innovative non-profit program in Santa Ana that provides after-school academic lessons and activities to at-risk children from lower-income families.
