From the Pacific Ocean to the Cleveland National Forest, this guide will help you enjoy the natural side of the Irvine Ranch.

The Wild Side of the Northern Irvine Ranch

If you love the scenic California foothills, thrive on exploring trails and yearn to hear the whispers of wind in lush oak trees, you live in the right place — or close to it.

Nearly 16,000 acres of open space, reserves and parks are designated for current and future preservation in the northern portion of the Irvine Ranch. Irvine Regional Park, Peters Canyon Regional Park and Limestone Canyon Wilderness Area — all created by land donations from The Irvine Company dating back to 1897 — offer everything from pony rides to bass fishing, mountain biking to horseback riding. And just as important, these wildlands are a lasting protective home to the area’s native plants and animals.

The fourth largest park of its kind in Orange County, Limestone-Whiting Wilderness Park is known for its challenging trails and docent-led tours of Limestone Canyon.
