Research Opportunities
Major contributions to leading research institutions on behalf of the Irvine Company and the Donald Bren Foundation, have created new, highly targeted research opportunities for renowned scientists, medical researchers and scholars. Burnham Institute for Medical Research
In addition to funding pioneering research, Mr. Bren has supported the efforts of distinguished scientist Dr. John C. Reed at the internationally acclaimed Burnham Institute for Medical Research, based in La Jolla, California.
The institute conducts wide-ranging research on cancer, neurosciences and aging, and infectious and inflammatory diseases.
