8telier opens first California retail store at Corona del Mar Plaza

New York designer Jean Glover brings her collection of sophisticated, modern pieces that embody minimalism with edginess to Orange County

Newport Beach, Calif. (December 2015) –  8telier just opened its first California boutique in Newport Beach. The name is a simple combination of the number 8 and the French word, atelier, meaning artist workshop.  In numerology, 8 symbolizes self-confidence.  From the design approach, Jean Glover curates and designs timeless apparel for confident women with modern aesthetics.

8telier’s Spring 2016 collection has a modern feel with an affinity for unconventional designs and silhouettes.

“The designs are minimal, with an edgy feel but always keeping in tune with the female body,” said Glover, who opened her first boutique in Seattle. “The fabrics are luxurious and the garment construction is top designer quality.”

Many of the tops have intriguing drape details.  Outerwear pieces, like 8telier’s coated jacket, are edgy and architectural with decisive bold lines.  The spring collection will also offer elevated, essential pieces that are a must for layering, such as skirted leggings with side zippers and drape knit tops that wear like a tee but look sophisticated.

8telier will be located at 924 Avocado Avenue in Newport Beach, CA.

8telier isn’t about the trends.  Jean’s designs are predicated in her architectural training; ‘form follows function.’   Her designs suggest quite luxury and always focus on wearer’s function and comfort in mind.  8telier clothes can function day to night, workdays to weekends.  8telier collection  primarily uses innovative technical fabrics from Japan and Europe.  The garments are designed and constructed so that even the jackets are machine washable.  The versatile and modern designs are with design savvy women in mind.   All the styles have strong dispositions for international, modern and innovative looks.

8telier is about modern and timeless designs.  Each piece is thoughtfully designed so it’s understandable and intriguing.  When you see it, wear it, you understand it.
