An Uncommon Community Beckons: Discover Portola Springs

For visionary homeshoppers who want to find an uncommon community in an incredibly convenient location, Portola Springs® is the place!

Set against the towering and majestic Lomas Ridge, this one-of-a-kind Irvine village offers plenty of elbow room with nature’s pleasures close to your front door. So, whether you prefer to explore on foot or by bicycle, you won’t have to wander far from home to get away from it all.

“Portola Springs’ more than 20 miles of trails can be a pathway to adventure, a part of your journey to staying fit or even a shortcut to finding new friends,” said Suzanne Maddalon, senior director of marketing and research for Irvine Community Development Company, an affiliate of The Irvine Company LLC. “Trails of varying lengths and elevations crisscross the community, connecting residents to one another’s neighborhoods, parks and recreation, and all the surrounding open space.”

In addition to the Lomas Ridge Open Space, the adjacent Irvine Ranch Land Reserve® and the riparian habitat known as Tomato Springs, the Portola Springs trails offer easy access to the Jeffrey Open Space Trail. This popular pathway is a 325-foot-wide, 117-acre public corridor that links all the northern and southern open spaces of The Irvine Ranch®.

“You can spend a lot of weekends exploring all the Portola Springs trails,” Maddalon said. “Each is unique and feels a little different every time you take it, as the natural surroundings evolve and reflect the changing seasons.”

Equally enjoyable are the six parks that are currently open in Portola Springs, highlighted by the first two pool parks, Silverado and Lomas Valley. Both with a Junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, children’s wading pool and bubbling spa, these two community gathering centers each feature poolside cabanas, shade structures, barbecue/picnic areas, and a large community building for community events and private parties.

Additional Silverado Park facilities include a basketball court and tennis courts. Lomas Valley Park has a half basketball court, open play turf and play structures for ages five through 12.

The village’s other four completed parks offer play lawns, tennis courts, barbecue areas, and imaginatively designed playgrounds for various age groups.

Portola Springs is planned to have a total of 18 neighborhood parks, a 25-acre community park with lighted athletic fields, and an 18,000-square-foot multipurpose building.

Complementing its naturally scenic setting, the uncommon community of Portola Springs is convenient to all the city essentials, including business and employment centers, John Wayne Airport, shopping, dining, entertainment, and more. The regional outdoor mall environment of Irvine Spectrum Center® is located only an exit away off the I-5 Freeway, and close-to-home shopping, dining and services are offered just down the street at Woodbury Town Center.
