Bay Area’s Lark Creek Coming to Fashion Island

The Irvine Company and Lark Creek Restaurant Group today announced that the San Francisco-based operator of highly acclaimed restaurants will open its first Orange County location in early 2013 at Fashion Island in the heart of Newport Beach.

The restaurant, Lark Creek Newport Beach, will be exclusive to Orange County and is set to open on the west side of Fashion Island near Nordstrom.

Founded by an award-winning team of industry veterans, Lark Creek Restaurant Group is a leader in creating and operating unique, high-quality restaurants that feature seasonal farm-fresh fare, extensive wines and artisanal cocktails, inviting ambiance, professional service and excellent value.

The addition of Lark Creek is part of a strategic investment by the Irvine Company to further solidify Fashion Island as a premier dining destination in Southern California with unique restaurants that reflect the tastes of local residents and visitors.

Fig & Olive, an elegant Mediterranean restaurant with locations in New York and West Hollywood, is opening its first Orange County location at the south side of Fashion Island in 2013. Fashion Island also is adding 22,000 square feet of space with more restaurants and stores coming to the center in the next 18 months.  

More than 40 new stores and restaurants have opened at Fashion Island since early 2010, including the first ever Ella Moss store, the largest Apple Store in Orange County, the first West Coast Vineyard Vines store and the only store beyond Los Angeles for trendy boutique Kitson.

Coming this summer is the first West Coast store by C. Wonder — the revolutionary lifestyle brand by Chris Burch that debuted in New York in October 2011 — followed by Newport Beach’s first Whole Foods Market, which will bring a pleasantly atypical grocery shopping experience to Fashion Island in the fall. 

Lark Creek Newport Beach will offer chef-driven lunch and dinner menus featuring steaks and fish grilled over a wood fire, salads, sandwiches and pastas featuring local, seasonal ingredients. 

The restaurant will serve a bounty of wines from Napa Valley, the Santa Cruz Mountains, Santa Barbara, Mendocino and Sonoma counties, as well as international appellations. Artisanal cocktails from proprietary recipes with fresh-squeezed juices also will be featured.

Over the years, Lark Creek Restaurant Group has earned several Michelin Stars and James Beard Foundation awards. Today, the Company operates 14 restaurants including Michelin-star One Market Restaurant at the San Francisco Embarcadero and LarkCreekSteak and Cupola Pizzeria at Westfield San Francisco Centre. Other restaurants include Lark Creek Grill, Yankee Pier, Fish Story, Parcel 104, Bradley Ogden at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and Moreton Fig at the University of Southern California’s Ronald Tutor Campus Center.
