Bistro le Crillon, a restaurant known for its extensive and award-winning wine collection, has received the coveted Best Award of Excellence for 2010 from Wine Spectator. The August issue of the prestigious magazine lists the Newport Beach restaurant as among the “Best Restaurants for Wine Lovers.”
According to Wine Spectator’s President, there was a significant reduction in Awards this year due to economic effects on restaurants. Bistro le Crillon is the only Newport Beach restaurant to receive the honor of Best Award of Excellence.
Bistro le Crillon recently launched Bouchon Hour, a French-inspired happy hour available in the bar Monday through Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Bouchon Hour features a dozen specially-priced white and red wines by the glass for $4.95 and free tapas. Many of the wines are highly-rated vintages from California, France, Italy and Argentina.
Bouchon hour is also available for private parties and corporate events in Bistro le Crillon’s private dining room by reservation, which can be followed by the prix fixe dinner menu at $25 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), or guests can enjoy the regular menu.
Bistro le Crillon’s summer Prix Fixe dinner menu features three courses, starting with a choice of Mesclun Mixed Green Salad, Traditional Caesar Salad or Soup of the Day. Entrée choices include Norwegian Baked Salmon with Dill Sauce and Potatoes Gratin, Penne Spicy Sausage and Beef, or Boneless Chicken Breast Nicoise. The meal ends on a sweet note with Chocolate Profiteroles for dessert.
At Bistro le Crillon, diners and wine enthusiasts can view samples of the collection of over 3,000 bottles through a glass-enclosed temperature controlled wine cellar.
Bistro Crillon is open for dinner Monday through Saturday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and is closed on Sunday.
