Fox Plaza, the Irvine Company’s world-renowned office tower in Century City, has been honored with The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) International Award by the Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA).
Fox Plaza and other 2010-2011 International TOBY winners were recognized for excellence in office building management and operations. To earn the international award, Fox Plaza first won local and regional competitions. Judging was based on community impact, tenant/employee relations programs, energy management systems, accessibility for disabled people, emergency evacuation procedures, building personnel training programs and overall quality indicators. A team of expert industry professionals also conducted a comprehensive building inspection.
BOMA judges honored 14 distinguished properties as International award winners from a record pool of 94 buildings across 92 local associations throughout the United States and affiliates in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
“Earning the International TOBY award is one of the highest honors in the commercial real estate industry,” said Doug Holte, president of Irvine Company Office Properties. “We are extraordinarily proud of this accomplishment. Receiving Local, Regional and International TOBY awards is an exceptional achievement and demonstrates the steadfast commitment and dedication by the entire management team at Fox Plaza.”
Fox Plaza was awarded a Local Outstanding Building of the Year Award by BOMA of Greater Los Angeles in October 2010.
The 34-story building with 730,510 square feet of rentable space, was awarded a regional TOBY by the Pacific Southwest Region of BOMA in April 2011.
TOBY awards are presented in a variety of categories based on building size and facility type. Fox Plaza received its award in the 500,000 to 1 million square foot category.
