Fashion Island® Celebrates Fashion’s Night Out

Top celebrity stylist Melis Kuris will kick off the celebration of Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) at Fashion Island on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. by hosting a Fall Fashion Presentation where she will also introduce the winner of a Personal Styling Contest. The festivities will continue at Fashion Island from 5 to 9 p.m. with dozens of in-store fashion and beauty events, giveaways, sweet treats, DJs throughout the center, and more.

Customers can enter to win a 90-minute styling session with Kuris and a $1,000 Fashion Island gift card with which to shop. The winner will enjoy his or her personal styling session prior to the Fashion’s Night Out kick-off at Fashion Island, when Kuris will introduce the winner’s new look to the public. Entries are being accepted at www.shopfashionisland.com/fno now through August 28 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be notified no later than September 6, 2011.

Fashion Island will kick off its celebration of Fashion’s Night Out with a Fall Fashion Presentation hosted by Kuris along with L.A. Confidential Editor-in-Chief Sari Anne Tuschman at 5 p.m. in the Neiman Marcus-Bloomingdale’s Courtyard, where they will share trend tips and Hollywood fashion secrets with OC’s stylish set. Kuris has styled the Twilight cast including Ashley Greene, Taylor Lautner, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli, as well as a variety of well known entertainers including Anna Paquin, Helen Mirren, Jennie Garth, Cat Deeley, Joss Stone and the band Muse. 

More than 40 stores will host FNO events including Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, American Rag Cie, Anthropologie, Elie Tahari, Ella Moss, Ever, G-Star Raw, Inglot, JACK SPADE, Jonathan Adler, Kate Spade, Michael Stars, Original Penguin, Sperry Top-Sider, Splendid, Trina Turk and Vince. Elie Tahari and Trina Turk will both carry pieces from the official Fashion’s Night Out 2011 collection. Forty percent of the proceeds from sales of FNO collection pieces will benefit the New York City AIDS Fund in the New York Community Trust.

In addition, the first 500 guests who make a purchase that evening at participating stores will receive a custom Fashion Island tote. The tote bag giveaway will run while supplies last, with a limit of one bag per person and no minimum purchase required.

Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) is an unprecedented global initiative originally created in 2009 to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, and boost the industry’s economy during the recession. On September 8, 2011, in response to overwhelming demand, Fashion’s Night Out will return to New York City, Los Angeles and over 100 other cities nationwide to highlight fashion and support retail with exciting events that include designer appearances, celebrity guests, fashion shows and musical performances.
