Fashion Island®, Irvine Spectrum Center® And The Market Place Celebrate O.C. Style

Now in its eighth year, Style Week OC showcases notable brands and local emerging designers from Orange County’s best retailers

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., August 2015 – Style Week OC returns to Fashion Island, Irvine Spectrum Center and The Market Place Sept. 10 through Sept. 19 with fashion shows, in-store parties and trend presentations to celebrate the best in O.C. style.

“Style Week OC is a great way to showcase the talented designers we have right here in Southern California, in addition to all the exciting trends for fall from our collection of retailers,” said Easther Liu, Chief Marketing Officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties.  “We’re honored to host this great event for the eighth year and to be able to bring the community together to enjoy the art and craft of fashion.”

On Thursday, Sept.10, O.C.’s only Neiman Marcus kicks off the weeklong series of stylish events at Fashion Island with its own runway show at 11:30 a.m. featuring fall’s hottest trends from its collection of designer brands. Later that evening, Riviera Magazine will host its “Women of Style” party at Fashion Island to fete Orange County’s most fashionable women, with a repeat of the Neiman Marcus runway presentation. The Fashion Island Contemporary Show on Friday, Sept.11 will feature the season’s most coveted looks from participating retailers such as Neiman Marcus CUSP, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Elie Tahari, Joie, Rebecca Taylor and Vince Camuto.

Headlining events for Style Week OC include the two crowd-pleasing runway design competitions at 7 p.m. at Fashion Island on Saturday, Sept. 12 and Irvine Spectrum Center on Saturday, Sept. 19, both of which will be hosted by fashion designer and TV personality Nick Verreos. Presenting sponsor Celebrity Cruises has challenged graduate designers from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) to create innovative resort-wear that evokes “Modern Luxury.”

“Celebrity Cruises is thrilled to be the presenting sponsor of Style Week OC for the second year,” said Cynthia Rose, regional marketing manager for Celebrity Cruises. “Our brand is perfectly aligned with the innovative art and design that these shows present and the FIDM students seem truly inspired to have our onboard ‘Modern Luxury’ spaces and enticing cruise destinations as their muse this year.”

To celebrate Irvine Spectrum Center’s 20th anniversary this year, the Surf and Action Sports Showcase salutes 20 years of style from iconic O.C. fashion brands carried at Tilly’s, ActiveRide and more – with a unique runway presentation on Friday, Sept.18.

The Market Place showcases its top looks for fall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 when “Saturday Style” returns.  Customers will be eligible to win a $1,000 shopping spree by visiting at least two out of five store parties with informal modeling and light refreshments at  Charming Charlie’s, LOFT, Off Broadway, Stein Mart and White House Black Market.

The Spectrum Collection Show will wrap up Style Week OC 2015 at Irvine Spectrum Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept.19. Participating retailers in the runway show include: Nordstrom, Macy’s, bebe, Francesca’s Collections, Kaitlyn, Max Studio, Tommy Bahama, White House Black Market and Windsor.
