Portola Springs® is the kind of place families love to find even when they’re not looking for it!
That’s how it happened for Christina and Rudy Fan, who moved to this new Irvine village in early March with their two young daughters.
“When we discovered Portola Springs, we weren’t actively searching for a new home but knew that we were outgrowing our West Irvine condominium after the birth of our second child,” recalled at-home mom Christina. “Because Portola Springs felt so right, we immediately went into action to make this wonderful new village all our own.”
Now the Fans are proud owners of a detached courtyard home at Decada by California Pacific Homes, located right across the street from a swimming pool and other family-oriented park facilities.
“Portola Springs is everything we could have ever wanted in a community; the perfect place to raise a family,” said Christina. “I love to run the trails or head for the park with my daughters in the double jogger stroller, and we enjoy playgroups with other moms and their young children. It’s beautiful here, with all the hills and trees and open space. Rudy and I like to be outdoors, especially in the evening when you can see the mountains and city lights. It’s very peaceful.”
Rudy Fan, a senior accountant with a leading architectural firm in the airport area, has an easy commute to work via the 133 toll road, which is ultra-convenient for Portola Springs’ residents.
“Portola Springs really is the best location because it’s removed from all the hustle and bustle yet very close to everything,” said Rudy. “We like having Irvine Spectrum Center® only 10 minutes away, where we can walk around with our family, get a bite to eat and ride the carousel. Being part of the Irvine Unified School District was also something we wanted very much.”
Shopping and dining opportunities are in plentiful supply for the Fans and other Portola Springs families just down the street at Woodbury Town Center as well.
“I love shopping at Trader Joe’s and other stores at Woodbury Town Center,” said Christina, “The Town Center has great places for families to eat, clustered around an outdoor courtyard with tables and a fountain. There’s a grassy area where children can run around. I’ve fallen in love with Piccomolo, which offers gelato every bit as good as I’ve had in Italy.”
Added Rudy: “We look forward to exploring the Jeffrey Open Space Trail, which is easily accessible from our Portola Springs trails. I play a lot of basketball, and now I have a full court to play on right in our area of Portola Springs.”
Other families eager to embrace the lifestyle the Fans have discovered at Portola Springs currently have 10 great neighborhoods to choose from within the first two of Portola Springs’ five planned residential enclaves.
