Four Additional Restaurants To Open At The Market Place This Year

Four new eateries join the growing collection of dining destinations at the Irvine and Tustin shopping center

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., June 2015 – The Market Place welcomes four new dining establishments this year, adding to its ever-evolving lineup of dining, shopping and entertainment choices.

“We’re proud to continue expanding the dining options for the communities of Tustin and Irvine,” said Easther Liu, chief marketing officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “The new eateries span the gamut of cuisine choices, from barbeque and Italian to traditional American menus, offering a little something for everyone’s palate.”

  • Named after the famed rustic flatbread sandwiches of Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region, PIADINA – Italian Market Sandwiches has just opened on the Tustin side of The Market Place. Piadina offers grilled-to-order sandwiches on thin flatbread wrapped around a variety of fillings, such as cheese and prosciutto.
  • Famous Dave’s Barbeque, named America’s best BBQ for 10 years running, is set to open this month on the Irvine side of the center. At Famous Dave’s, authentic BBQ starts in a live-wood smoker stoked with genuine hickory logs. The restaurant sources only the highest quality meats and its pitmasters hand-rub the meats with a custom blend of spices and cook for hours to extract the natural flavors. From Rich & Sassy® to Sweet & Zesty® to Pineapple Rage®, their original sauces let you create your own legendary BBQ experience.
  • Committed to bring fresh, 100% all-natural, real ingredients to everyday American classics, THE MELT will open on the Tustin side of the center in Fall 2015. The casual eatery’s made-to-order menu of ‘real happy food’ includes hot-n-crispy grilled cheese melts, juicy burger melts, fresh chicken melts, fries and salads.
  • Featuring fresh sushi and creative maki rolls, as well as modern riffs on traditional Asian fare, Wokcano offers guests a broad and savory culinary tour of popular Asian cuisines. Slated to open in late Fall 2015 on the Tustin side of the center, the restaurant and lounge will feature a sushi bar, a full menu of modern Asian cuisine and a cocktail lounge.

The latest restaurant arrivals follow the recent openings of TAPS Fish House & Brewery, a full-scale fish and chop house complemented by award winning craft beers; and Miguel’s Jr. Homestyle Mexican Food, fresh Mexican cuisine from family recipes inspired by Central Mexico. Other previous notable openings include: Pieology, Mizu Sushi & Grill, Class 302, Islands Restaurant, G Burger, Bonefish Grill and Capriotti’s Sandwiches

For Spring 2016, Urban Plates and a Starbucks drive-thru are set to open at The Market Place as well.
