Four visionary companies sign leases totaling nearly 100,000 square feet at UCI Research Park

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (January 18, 2019) — Irvine Company announced today that four cutting-edge concepts – Cloudvirga, Rauxa, Ready at Dawn Studios and Urovant Sciences — have leased nearly 100,000 square feet at UCI Research Park.

“Broadcom’s recent move from UCI RP created a long-desired opportunity for innovation-minded companies to do business on the grounds of one of the world’s top research universities,” said Tom Greubel, vice president, leasing, Irvine Company Office Properties. “UCI RP provides the inspiration growth-oriented companies are looking for to recruit and retain talent.”

Cloudvirga, a leading provider of digital mortgage software, automates manual mortgage processes to cut overall loan costs, increase transparency and reduce the time it takes to close a loan. The company’s customer base includes nine of the top 40 non-bank mortgage originators in the United States, and to date, Cloudvirga has raised more than $77 million from some of the country’s top lenders and private-equity firms. Cloudvirga will occupy 24,000 square feet at 5291 California.

Rauxa, the country’s largest woman-owned independent advertising agency, generates bold results for clients including Verizon, TGI Fridays, Alaska Airlines, Vans and more. The company’s Southern California location will lease about 11,500 square feet.

Ready At Dawn, an American video game developer founded in 2003, has leased nearly 41,000 square feet at 5271 California.  The 15-year-old company is best known for creating and designing games and intellectual properties for PlayStation and Oculus, most notably the critically and commercially acclaimed franchises Lone Echo®, The Order: 1886®, God of War® and Daxter®.

Urovant Sciences, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel therapies for urologic conditions, leased about 22,000 square feet at 5281 California. The company’s lead investigational drug is vibegron, a β3-adrenergic agonist being developed for the treatment of overactive bladder.

Formerly called University Research Park, the 185-acre business park is undergoing a major reinvestment, including the addition of The Commons at UCI Research Park, a one-acre, digitally-enabled, open-air venue for team collaboration and fully equipped for cutting-edge events and exhibitions.

The campus is being reimagined to emphasize an open flow between sophisticated interiors, chef-driven café, fitness centers and expansive outdoor spaces for collaboration and to foster breakthrough innovation.

The state-of-the-art conference center features high-tech AV equipment, a spacious entry and reception area, flexible seating for more than 100 attendees, and a large kitchen area for catering opportunities.

The reinvestment will also bring Irvine Company’s signature wellness amenity KINETIC to the campus. KINETIC offers customers a unique, integrated approach to workplace wellness featuring a private state-of-the-art fitness center, group fitness, Zagster bike share program, basketball and volleyball courts, as well as walking and cycling routes. Additional onsite amenities include Starbucks Coffee and Specialty’s Café & Bakery with Peet’s Coffee & Tea.

UCI Research Park is home to more than 75 companies and more than 8,000 employees, including iconic companies Cisco Systems, Skyworks, Intel and Toshiba America and is conveniently located off the 73 Freeway, minutes from John Wayne Airport, and a short drive from luxury apartment communities, Fashion Island, The Island Hotel and the renowned Resort at Pelican Hill.

Also, the City of Irvine was recently recognized as having the best broadband in the country.
