Holiday Celebrations And Traditions Steeped In Luxury At Island Hotel Newport Beach

This year’s holiday season at Island Hotel Newport Beach is designed to take us back to time-honored traditions without leaving the center of coastal luxury.  Whether you’re interested in a traditional holiday feast with all the trimmings or a new twist on a modern day holiday tea party with martinis, Island Hotel Newport Beach will be a holiday home away from home for locals and visitors alike.

Dining & Business Etiquette ― Business etiquette refresher just in time for holiday networking events. Nov. 6 @ 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sail the S.S. Island Hotel Gingerbread ― Christening of life-sized gingerbread sailboat with chocolate champagne bottle by Newport Beach Chamber Commodores. Nov. 25th @ 12:30 p.m.

Holiday Tea & “Tinis” with Santa ― An afternoon with Santa at a Newport Beach-style tea party. Traditional house brewed teas, scones and tea sandwiches. Holiday martini menu for adults. Dec 14 @ 12:30 p.m. & 3 p.m.

OCTOBER 2013

Ferrari Carano Vineyards Wine Dinner
Wednesday, Oct. 16 ― 6 p.m.
Sommeliers and wine novices will love this evening of fine wines paired with a four-course, farm-to-table California inspired menu created by Executive Chef David Man.  During this very special wine event, Chef Man will pair wines from Ferrari Carano Vineyards and Winery in Sonoma County. Reception begins at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. $115* per person.  Reservations required.

NOVEMBER 2013

Dining & Business Etiquette
Wednesday, Nov. 6  from 11:30 a.m. ― 1 p.m.
Deals are made at the dining table! Brush up on your dining and business etiquette skills before the holiday season of networking events begins.  Learn how to manage the social and entertainment aspects of business outside the office environment as well as gain professional image and business success tips. $145 per person, includes a four-course meal.

Sail the S.S. Island Hotel Gingerbread
Monday, Nov. 25 ― 12:30 p.m.
Kick off the holiday season as we christen the S.S. Island Hotel Gingerbread, a lifesize replica of a Sabot vessel docked in the hotel lobby made entirely of delicious sweets including gingerbread, hotel-made frostings, candies and more.  After we christen to boat with our chocolate champagne bottle by the Newport Beach Commodores, guests will enjoy hot apple cider and gingerbread cookies.

Toys for Tots Donation Drive
Donation Collection Begins Nov 25th and Concludes Dec. 15th
Island Hotel Newport Beach invites guests, Fashion Island shoppers, local businesses and the community-at-large to give an unwrapped toy to a deserving child this holiday season. Enjoy the festive holiday cheer in the hotel’s lobby, and view the S.S. Island Hotel Gingerbread sail boat. All toys go directly to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve for donation to Toys for Tots.

Thanksgiving Day Ballroom Brunch
Thursday, Nov. 28 ― 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Executive Chef David Man creates a festive Thanksgiving buffet in our Ballroom offering breakfast selections, a carving station, traditional holiday side dishes and an assortment of extraordinary desserts. Entertainment includes a live holiday jazz band.  Reservations recommended. $79*for adults and $19* for children under 5.

Thanksgiving Evening at Palm Terrace Restaurant
Thursday, Nov. 28 ― 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Enjoy a Thanksgiving evening meal at Palm Terrace Restaurant with our signature menu and a special festive prix-fixe turkey dinner offering created by Executive Chef David Man. Reservations recommended.

DECEMBER 2013

Holiday Tea & “Tinis” with Santa
Saturday, Dec. 14― 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. (two seatings)
Children and their families are invited to spend a delightful afternoon with Santa Clause at a Newport Beach-style tea party. Enjoy tea sandwiches and artisan pastries and scones created by Island’s Pastry Chef while sipping on a cup of tea or a signature martini, along with live performances by ‘American Idol’ star Sara Niemietz and illusions by Santa’s Elf the Magician.  A festive holiday martini menu will be created for adults. Parent supervision required. $49*adults, $29* children

Hanukkah Cookie Decorating for Children
Sunday, Dec. 1 ― 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Celebrate The Festival of Lights with creative and delicious cookie decorating, hot chocolate and sweet treats to take home. A variety of very freshly baked Dreidel, Star of David, and Menorah shaped cookies will inspire you to create yummy works of art. Ages 5 and up, with parental supervision required for children ages 10 and younger. $35* per child

Build-Your-Own Gingerbread House for Children
Sunday, Dec. 8 and 22 ― 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Enjoy a favorite holiday tradition at Island Hotel Newport Beach by creating a masterpiece Gingerbread House of your own to take home. Every wall and the frostings will be made fresh especially for you by our team of pastry chefs for this very special event. Ages 5 and up, with parent supervision required for children 10 and younger. $55* per child, includes lunch.

Christmas Evening At Palm Terrance Restaurant

Tuesday, Dec. 24 ― 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Delight in a festive four-course holiday meal created by Executive Chef David Man inspired by holiday traditions. Select one of four delicious entrée options, and leave the rest to us. This very festive holiday menu will be accompanied by a live holiday jazz band. Reservations recommended. $79* adults, $29* children.

Christmas Day in the Ballroom
Wednesday, Dec. 25 ― 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Join us at the Center of Coastal Luxury for a Christmas Day celebration with all the trimmings for family and friend to feast. Enjoy a buffet meal with seasonal favorites, traditional holiday menu offerings, and Champagne served in the Ballroom. Live holiday performances by singer/song writer, Sara Niemietz. Christmas Night at Palm Terrace Restaurant
Wednesday, Dec. 25 ― 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Executive Chef David Man will delight you, family and friends with a festive four-course epicurean holiday meal accompanied by a live holiday jazz band.  Executive Chef David Man invites you to select one of four entrée courses of his specially designed Christmas Night prix-fixe menu.  Reservations Recommended. $79* adults, $29* children.

New Year’s Eve at Palm Terrance Restaurant
Tuesday, Dec. 31 ― 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. (two seatings)
Ring in the New Year with a celebratory four-course Champagne Dinner where  Executive Chef David Man will pair international and domestic champagnes  with our prix-fixe menu featuring   amuse-bouche and choice of main entrée.. Reservations Recommended.  $129* per person, $175* includes entrance to Palm Terrace Lounge celebration.

New Year’s Eve at Palm Terrace Lounge
Tuesday, Dec. 31 ― doors open at 8:30 p.m.
Celebrate the last evening of the year with friends and family dancing to a live band and midnight champagne toast.  Our popular Palm Terrace Lounge menu will be available for purchase to keep you nourished all night long. Seating is on a first come first serve basis. $120* per person, and includes midnight Champagne toast.

JANUARY 2014
