Irvine Public Schools Foundation and The Market Place present second annual STEAM Carnival

IRVINE, Calif. (April 14, 2016) — Irvine Public Schools Foundation (IPSF), in partnership with The Market Place, presents the 2nd annual STEAM Carnival, a family-friendly event for all ages designed to provide children with fun, hands-on activities in an interactive carnival atmosphere to spark their interest in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).

The event will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 in the Edwards Theater Courtyard.

Featured STEAM activities include: discovering game mechanics with human foosball, tinkering with robots, going on a LEGO Scavenger Hunt, art activities, an animal exhibit, photo booth, live performances – and more. More than 1,000 local children and families enjoyed the STEAM festivities and raised $27,000 for IPSF at the inaugural carnival last July.

“We are delighted to partner for the second year with IPSF as host and sponsor for the STEAM Carnival,” said Easther Liu, chief marketing officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “As a go-to gathering place for Irvine families, we could think of no better location than The Market Place to host our youngest learners and their families for a day of STEAM discovery.”

Tickets for the 2nd Annual STEAM Carnival are $4 online presale and $5 at the door with 100 percent of the proceeds going to IPSF’s funding efforts, which provide innovative programs to students throughout Irvine Unified School District. Children three years and under are free. The first 350 attendees will also receive a limited-edition tote bag.

The Market Place will have a fun street team booth where guests will have the opportunity to enter to win a $500 gift card, redeemable at The Market Place.

The Market Place Edwards Courtyard is located at 13782 Jamboree Road, Irvine, CA.
