Irvine Spectrum Center Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

The popular Southern California entertainment and lifestyle destination is kicking off its big 20 with a day and evening of family-fun games. 

IRVINE, Calif., July 2015 – To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Irvine Spectrum Center is inviting the community to come for a day and evening of family-fun games and entertainment.

“We’re so grateful to have been a part of Orange County for the last two decades and we want to invite everyone who has helped to make Irvine Spectrum Center such a success,” said Easther Liu, Chief Marketing Officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “More than ever, we’re committed to providing our guests with ways to experience the unexpected at Irvine Spectrum Center – whether it’s shopping at their favorite stores to a fun night out at the best restaurants and entertainment venues.”

From 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 11, the Giant Wheel Court will be transformed into game central, where guests can challenge each other in bingo and play an oversized Jenga with a game host and DJ. Additionally, guests can enjoy complimentary rides on the dazzling, all-new LED-illuminated Giant Wheel.

Visitors will be invited to share their favorite memories of Irvine Spectrum Center by hashtagging their photos for Irvine Spectrum Center’s Instagram and Facebook pages. Beginning July 1, guests can visit to view a historical timeline of the master-planned Irvine Spectrum® area, which includes notable milestones and photographs of Irvine Spectrum Center.

In 1995, Irvine Spectrum Center opened with 250,000 square feet of dining and entertainment, including the Edwards Irvine Spectrum 21 & IMAX, the first megaplex movie theater in the world with 6,400 seats, 21 screens, including an eight-story high IMAX theater. Today, Irvine Spectrum Center has grown to more than 1.2 million-square-feet, with the country’s largest and most successful Improv Comedy Club, along with a Nordstrom, Target and H&M.
