Irvine Spectrum Center’s Iconic Giant Wheel Gets A Makeover

Guests are invited to enjoy the new and energy-efficient LED-wheel experience 

IRVINE, Calif., June 2015 – Irvine Spectrum Center’s most recognized landmark has just unveiled its new, showstopping debut.  Widely regarded as one of California’s most beautiful Ferris wheels, the 108-foot Giant Wheel was built in Italy more than a decade ago and features octagonal, Andalusian-inspired gondolas.

Now, the wheel’s 12,500 standard bulbs have been replaced with more than 52,000 energy-efficient LED lights capable of a dazzling 16 million different color schemes. The new Giant Wheel also boasts an LED face to illuminate an array of rich hues and designs to celebrate special events and holiday seasons.
