Living Spaces welcomed more than 100 guests – including Irvine Mayor Beth Krom – this week to a grand opening celebration at The Irvine Home Center, off the I-5 Freeway at Alton Parkway.
“We’ve been looking for the right location in South Orange County for some time,” said Grover Geiselman, CEO of Living Spaces. “The Irvine Company has created an outstanding shopping environment here, and we look forward to serving the home furnishing needs of all of Orange County.”
Moments later, Geilselman cut the ceremonial ribbon, and guests flooded into the 90,000 sq. ft. store to shop for sofas, beds – even televisions.
Since 2007, Living Spaces showrooms have featured Paul’s TV (“The King of the Big Screen”) stores; the Irvine store – its first in Orange County and fourth in Southern California – is no exception. In fact, Paul himself arrived at the celebration to welcome guests in person.
Geiselman said Living Spaces sought a “Class A” shopping center with steady traffic. Located near the intersections of the I-5, 405 and 133 freeways, the Irvine Home Center was a perfect fit. “Look how beautifully designed and landscaped the center is,” he said.
Geilselman has been a fan of the Irvine Company for decades. Back in the 1970s, his mother – a Texas real estate developer – studied each new Irvine Ranch village as it opened, he said.
Janice Fuchs, Vice President of Operations for the Irvine Company Retail Properties, encouraged residents to welcome Living Spaces to Orange County – by purchasing new furniture. She predicted the store will be an attractive destination for the region’s sophisticated and discerning shoppers.
“It is a proud day for the Irvine Home Center,” she said.
Living Spaces is located at 101 Technology Dr., inside the Irvine Home Center at the 5 freeway and Alton Parkway. The store can be reached at (877) 266-7300.
