Newport Beach, California, September 15, 2008 — Luxury eyewear manufacturer Dita has confirmed the chatter: They have arrived in Newport Beach. Dita Legends, the brand’s line of retail concept stores, is now open at Fashion Island. This store will mark the second Dita Legends location in southern California and the first in Orange County.
Once available only at select boutiques, discerning OC shoppers will now have a consummate selection of Dita merchandise at their disposal. In addition to Dita’s celebrity-coveted sunglass and optical collections, the Legends store will boast a selection of vintage frames curated by the founders themselves, and will seasonally feature designer collaborations by some of Japan’s most celebrated brands: Visvim, Hysteric Glamour, and Neighborhood.
The boutique will also celebrate styles beyond the Dita brand: Oliver Goldsmith from England, Cazal and Mykita both from Germany. Rest assured, overcast days aren’t going to be leaving any of these frames sitting on the dresser.
Architecture firm Tag Front, designers of the breathtaking Los Angeles location, have created an atrium like, open-air store plan designed to seamlessly integrate with Fashion Island itself thus creating the illusion of a frontless space and allowing the product direct focus without prohibition.
Dita is headquartered in Los Angeles, with Dita Legends international locations in Japan and Hong Kong. A homecoming of sorts, founders Jeff Solorio and John Juniper are OC natives and friends since grade school that found their inspiration for eyewear through film, photography, and beach culture.
Since their first collection in 1996, Dita has garnered a loyal share of the style –informed market and enjoyed critical acclaim strictly on the merits of their fashion forward designs and commitment to quality. Dita’s frames are artisan crafted in Japan using bespoke methods combined with modern innovations and the highest quality materials. The end result is a welcomed, stylish revelation.
