Partnering to Prepare for the Future

This week, anticipation has been building about how and when the economy will fully reopen.

Our research suggests that consumer demand will be slow to recover but one thing is clear – our business community continues to adapt and innovate.  We’ve seen many examples of this throughout our Irvine Company workplace communities.

At UCI Research Park businesses, UCI students, faculty and staff collaborated to design and produce thousands of face shields utilizing laser cutters and 3D printers to keep local doctors and nurses safe, all while maintaining safe practices and physical distancing.  The Beall Applied Innovation team deserves special recognition for coordinating this meaningful effort.

Another example is Lumitron Technologies, which is part of Irvine’s renowned medical-device industry.  During the crisis, the company’s innovation has continued with pioneering a laser X-ray system unlike any in the world. The emerging company’s technology has 1,000 times the resolution of a traditional X-ray machine and a fraction of the radiation.

Each day, our Office Division is assisting customers like these who continue to adapt and innovate to serve our community.

As the restrictions begin to ease, we are preparing to welcome back more of our customers to our first-class, clean and healthy work environments.  Irvine Company developed “A Return to Workplace Guide” that was shared with customers detailing how to bring their teams back gradually – with confidence.

Our planning continues every day. From office workplace communities to shopping centers to homes and resorts, Irvine Company’s experience and focus as a master planner has never been more important.  We will be partnering with our community to ensure we are ready for what’s next.
