Pelican Hill Debuts Children’s Resort Etiquette Program As Families Prepare For Summer Travel Season

As families plan summer travel to luxurious destinations near and far, The Resort at Pelican Hill® presents a new spring series of etiquette classes, covering a range of topics from the dining table to the Resort pool. Designed for children ages 8-12, the full-day course combines fun and learning to build young Resort guests’ repertoire of protocol, manners, and self-confidence.

“There’s no better setting than the nation’s top-ranked Resort, known for its gracious service and unparalleled amenities, to guide young guests in polishing their Resort etiquette and preparing for a lifetime of travels to the world’s finest destinations,” said Pelican Hill Managing Director Giuseppe Lama. “Just in time for summer vacations, our spring classes offer professional instruction, paired with a fun approach and a casually chic setting.”

Conducted at Newport Coast’s “Italian Seaside Village,” the program features intimate class sizes of six to 12 students, personalized hands-on learning and a positive approach to prepare children for safe, enjoyable family travel. Children ages 8-12 are invited to learn a charming new set of skills by enrolling in a one of the Resort’s classes offered from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, May 27 and June 24, 2012.

Led by Founder and President of the Etiquette School of Beverly Hills-Newport Beach, Kathleen Cover, each fun and interactive class includes the topics of first impressions and introductions, dining etiquette, writing thank you notes, Five-Diamond resort and pool etiquette, completed with an afternoon swim in the Coliseum Pool, one of the largest circular pools in the world.

“Our Resort etiquette program is designed to maximize a child’s awareness of the world in which they live by educating them in good manners and social graces, so they can effectively present themselves when introduced to new and exciting cultures,” said Cover, who has 27 years of experience in the luxury hotel and events industry. “These one-day courses offer the perfect setting for children to develop confidence in their own knowledge, launching a lasting pattern for life and providing an invaluable foundation for their future.”

Each full-day class, held in a Resort ballroom, includes lunch, a Resort tour, and a swim in the Coliseum Pool for $249 per child per class. Exclusive same-day offers for golf, spa and dining will be available for parents of children enrolled in a class. Class size is limited to between six and12 children per class, and reservations may be arranged by calling 800-820-6800 or 949-467-6800. Additional details are available online at pelicanhill.com.
