Irvine Company Office Properties has announced that three of its San Diego properties – 101 West Broadway, The Plaza and La Jolla Centre 1 – have been honored with Regional TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) Awards by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
TOBY Awards are considered the most prestigious and comprehensive recognitions of their kind in the commercial real estate industry. The program recognizes superior quality in office buildings and honors excellence in building management. During the competition, properties are comprehensively evaluated and entries are judged on building standards, community impact, tenant/employee relations, energy conservation, emergency preparedness, environmental initiatives and training programs for building personnel.
101 West Broadway took top honors in the category for buildings measuring 250,000 to 500,000 square feet. The Plaza captured took honors in the category for buildings measuring 500,000 to 1 million square feet. And La Jolla Centre 1 took the top prize in the category, Earth Award.
Following their Regional wins, BOMA automatically submitted all three properties for judging in its international competition. Winners will be announced at BOMA’s International Convention next year.
