Summer Art Sundays At Fashion Island Kicks Off July 19

Get up close to two of Orange County’s most distinctive arts showcases at Fashion Island for two Sundays this July

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 2015 – Fashion Island will partner with Orange County’s beloved Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters for a special event series this summer.

“We’re proud to support the arts at Fashion Island,” said Easther Liu, Chief Marketing Officer of Irvine Company Retail Properties. “This is a terrific opportunity to get up close to two of coastal Orange County’s most renowned arts events.”

From noon to 3 p.m. July 19, the Bloomingdale’s Courtyard lawn will be filled with works from Festival of Arts’ artists who will be showcasing their craft. Participating artists include: Stefan Cummings, Susan Cox, Sharon Jackman, Mark Jacobucci, Shelly Rapp Evans, Mariana Nelson, Jayne Reich, Hugo Rivera, Sherry Salito-Forsen, Tom Swimm, Mike Tauber and Belle Tuckerman.

Additionally, a “live” statue from the famed Pageant of the Masters’ “tableaux vivants” will be on display – marking the first time a live statue will be exhibited to the general public offsite. The theme for the 2015 Pageant of the Masters, “The Pursuit of Happiness,” will explore the many sources of happiness, both ancient and modern through a unique, theatrical production of “living pictures.”

Shoppers can also enjoy complimentary light bites and refreshments from select Fashion Island restaurants as they enjoy art on display.

The following week, from noon to 3 p.m. July 26, the Atrium lawn will transform into a creative playground for children, with free arts & crafts activities.
