The Tan Family Chooses Portola Springs For Its Sense of Spaciousness

As many young parents will agree, finding the right setting for their first home is equally important as finding the home itself.

Hans and Claudia Tan, along with their young daughter, found the perfect family-oriented setting in the Irvine village of Portola Springs®, where they purchased a plan two, detached courtyard home within California Pacific Homes’ Vientos neighborhood.

“What we love most about Portola Springs is the sense of spaciousness,” said Hans. “It feels like you’re in the country, yet all the city amenities are only a few minutes away. We’re enjoying life here so much. Previously, we were renting an apartment in Costa Mesa. That was fine for the two of us, but once you start a family, there are many more things to consider. I used to work in Irvine and always thought this would be a great city to live in. Education is a top priority for us, so we’re very excited to be within the highly regarded Irvine Unified School District.”

Added Claudia: “It’s like another world here in Portola Springs. The birds are singing, there’s plenty of fresh air and all the trails are easily accessible. Hans and I can play tennis, swim or relax in the spa at our own Portola Springs’ parks and recreation centers. We’re getting together with our neighbors, and there are many other young children for our daughter to play with. When we want to go shopping, out for dinner or to a movie, Irvine Spectrum Center® and The Market Place are only a short drive away. Also, we enjoy the Woodbury Town Center just down the street for shopping at Trader Joe’s, a fast pizza or getting El Pollo Loco.”

The Tans looked at new homes in several other parts of Orange County, including Anaheim, where Hans is an electrical engineer with a leading provider of DSL router devices.

“We’re so pleased to be part of Portola Springs that I don’t mind the short commute to Anaheim at all,” he said. “Portola Springs is convenient to freeways and the 241 and 133 toll roads, so we can be just about anywhere in Orange County quickly.”

Another advantage the Tans see in their Portola Springs address is the proximity to University of California Irvine, where Hans, who has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from University of Southern California, hopes to pursue his Ph. D. Claudia, a former elementary school teacher, is currently working on her master’s degree at California State Fullerton.

Added Claudia: “Hans and I have found a wonderful new lifestyle in Portola Springs, and it’s the perfect place to raise our family. We can’t imagine anyplace better!”

For young families like the Tans, established families, singles, and couples of all ages, Portola Springs offers an outstanding variety of new-home opportunities surrounded by recreation, scenic trails and open space.
