Three New Restaurants & Two Expansions Slated For Irvine Spectrum Center

Irvine Spectrum Center, which recently opened four acclaimed restaurants with great success, has announced three additional new restaurants and two expansions that will debut by fall. The new eateries will further widen the array of eclectic and international restaurants in both fine and casual dining at Irvine Spectrum Center.

Opening later this spring is Luna Grill, which offers a health-conscious and great-tasting menu of Near East and Mediterranean cuisine. The fast-casual restaurant serves items such as Spicy Cilantro Hummus, Gyros Quesadilla, gourmet Wraps and Sandwiches with Chicken, Beef, Lamb, Shrimp, and other choices cooked to order. The restaurant is known for its Kabobs of all-natural beef, lamb and poultry, which can be enjoyed alone, topped on a salad, or as part of a combo plate. Luna Grill will be located across from Edwards Irvine Spectrum 21 Cinemas.

Opening this fall is Taverna Blu, a casual yet sophisticated Greek- and Mediterranean-inspired neighborhood restaurant that will serve lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Located between Barnes & Noble and Macy’s, this will be the first Orange County location for Taverna Blu. The menu will include items such as gourmet salads; a variety of small plates priced from $3 to $7 including: Fried Calamari, Spanakopita Rolls, and Greek Meatballs, flaming cheese, and marinated olives; Sandwiches including pitas and wraps made with Chicken, Gyros, Lamb, Grilled Veggies, Shrimp or Falafel; an assortment of pasta; and house specialties including Baked Eggplant, Grilled Lamb Chops, Grilled Salmon Lemonato, Chicken Marmelada and more. Taverna Blu will also offer a selection of craft beer and imported wine.

Pieology Pizzeria, an innovative new “kustom pizza” concept, will open its second Orange County restaurant at Irvine Spectrum Center this summer. Pieology is unique in that customers can create their own 12” pizzas by ordering unlimited fresh toppings for only $7.50. The pizzas arethen baked fresh in less than two minutes. There is also a menu of traditional pizzas for those who prefer to not custom order, and extra toppings can be added at no extra charge. Pieology also serves fresh-tossed salads and desserts including cinnamon strips and Ding Dongs.

In addition to the new restaurant openings, the popular Mexican restaurant Javier’s Cantina & Grill will add a second patio, accommodating 50 additional guests. The new patio will feature two fire pits and additional covered seating, all surrounded by lush landscaping. The patio, opening in late summer, will also be available for private parties.

Wahoo’s Fish Taco will also soon embark on a remodel and patio expansion slated for completion this summer. The enlarged patio will wrap around the restaurant and complement the new interior look, which will include a new bar. In addition to bar seating for dining, Wahoo’s will also have a full bar menu with daily specials.

“Irvine Spectrum Center has always been a draw for dining, but we are enhancing the entire offering with restaurants exclusive to Orange County,” said Dan Sheridan, president of Irvine Company Retail Properties, operator of Irvine Spectrum Center. “We’ve added fine dining concepts such as CUCINA enoteca and Paul Martin’s American Grill, and are now introducing more casual cafes with expanded patio dining to allow our guests to enjoy the center’s unique outdoor ambiance.”

These new eateries are in addition to other recent restaurant openings at Irvine Spectrum Center, including CUCINA entoeca, Paul Martin’s American Grill, Capital Seafood and Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill. P.F. Chang’s also recently remodeled, expanded its patio and revamped its menu.
