Two Irvine Company San Diego Office Properties Capture Prestigious Industry Awards

The Irvine Company today announced that two of its most prestigious office properties in San Diego County – One America Plaza in Downtown and La Jolla Centre I &II in University Town Center – received major awards in annual judging by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of San Diego.

The association’s TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) program recognizes quality and excellence in daily customer service and management of office buildings. TOBY awards are considered the most prestigious recognition in the international commercial real estate industry. In judging properties, all facets of a building’s operations are involved, including its tenant relations program, amenities package, community involvement, emergency evacuation procedures, building standards, accessibility and overall exceptional service.

The properties received high marks and praise from judges across the board, from lighting and signage in stairwells and corridors, to building conveniences, to tenant testimonials and the properties’ positive impacts on the community. As a result of winning the San Diego BOMA awards, both properties will now compete for regional TOBY awards, which will be presented next spring.

One America Plaza received a TOBY award in the category for buildings measuring more than 500,000 square feet. The building comprises 623,000 rentable square feet. Located just steps from the city’s fabled waterfront, One America Plaza is considered one of Downtown San Diego’s most prestigious office addresses. Designed by world-renowned architect Helmut Jahn, the 34-story Class A tower is a “next generation” building that features an optical network system, supporting high-speed network connections and Wi-Fi connectivity.

La Jolla Centre I & II received a TOBY award in the category for buildings measuring between 250,000 and 499,999 square feet. Its two towers comprise approximately 300,000 square feet of rentable Class A space. Located on the desirable eastside of San Diego County’s Golden Triangle area in University Town Center, La Jolla Centre offers unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean, Torrey Pines and mountain ranges. The Energy Star-labeled towers offer a wide array of onsite and nearby conveniences, including Westfield UTC Shopping Mall, Costa Verde Center and Regents Marketplace. La Jolla Centre is easily accessible from Downtown and San Diego International Airport.
