Setting a new standard for Orange County wealth managers and clients, UBS announced today that it will customize its new location on the 15th floor of the new 20 Pacifica office tower in Irvine Spectrum with curved cherry wood walls, light-colored marble floors and floor-to-ceiling glass to maximize enjoyment of some of the region’s best views.
“We are definitely aiming for the ‘Wow Factor,’” said Michael Goldfader, Director and Branch Manager for the Orange County office of UBS, a global wealth management, investment banking and asset management firm. “It is clear that Irvine Spectrum is becoming the center for business in Orange County. That’s why we’ve chosen the top floor of its premier new office tower. We intend to create an office environment that not only encourages collaboration and openness through design but one that will function seamlessly, while increasing business productivity.”
UBS is a key anchor tenant at 20 Pacifica, one of two new 15-story office towers at the intersection of the San Diego (405), Santa Ana (5) and Laguna Beach (133)freeways. UBS’s move is a defining moment in Irvine Spectrum’s continuing evolution from thriving technology hub to dynamic employment center where world-class companies from many disciplines operate within walking distance from best in class housing, recreation, shopping and dining, Irvine Company officials said.
“UBS is exactly the type of company we had always hoped to see associated with 20 Pacifica and Irvine Spectrum,” said Val Wheeler, President, The Irvine Company Office Properties. “They are one of the best in the world at what they do, and their attention to detail in revolutionizing the interior design of their new office space is certainly innovative. We applaud UBS’ vision in blending its north and south county operations here, and recognizing that Irvine Spectrum is evolving into one of the best places in the region to do business.”
In April, UBS will move about 50 wealth managers from Mission Viejo and Orange, where it had operated in low-rise, campus-style offices for nearly two decades. UBS retained Ted Moudis and Associates to transform the 22,000 sq. ft. floor plate into a welcoming and elegant place for advisers and clients to conduct business.
In addition to interior state-of-the-art finishes, UBS’ new location features some of the best views in Orange County.
Across the street is Irvine Spectrum Center, one of the county’s most dynamic regional shopping centers. During the past two years, the 1.1 million square foot center added the first pairing of Nordstrom and Target anywhere and 25 other shops to its already world-class mix of shopping and restaurants. It also completed a resort-like, 1,550-unit apartment community, ideal for employees looking for a home directly across the street from the office.
Clad in travertine, 20 Pacifica will be the first new high rise to open in Irvine Spectrum since 1990 – when the 14-story tower at 8105 Irvine Center Drive opened. Another 15-story tower next door at 40 Pacifica is scheduled to open in spring.
“In addition to the quality of the buildings, nearby shopping and housing,” Wheeler said, “Low unemployment, a Mediterranean climate and a convenient location add up to make Irvine in general – and Irvine Spectrum specifically — an outstanding place to do business.”
Developed in 1985, Irvine Spectrum is the largest master-planned center for research, technology and business in the world and home to internationally known companies such as Verizon Wireless, Toshiba, Canon and Ford Motor Company.
