NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., August 2014 – Urban Decay, the L’Oreal-owned make-up brand, is opening its first stand-alone store at Fashion Island in Newport Beach this fall.
The 1,000 square-foot flagship store will feature a custom foyer, the first of its kind at Fashion Island, as well as six makeup stations with exclusive Urban Decay makeup and boutique lifestyle products. The ultimate beauty hangout will also have a huge digital video wall and a gorgeous 100-inch custom nickel chandelier with reclaimed wide-beam flooring and a locally sourced “found” table that makes the space warm and inviting.
“We are excited to celebrate the amazing global success of this local Orange County brand as it opens its flagship store here at Fashion Island,” said Stacie Ellis, senior director of marketing for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “Our shoppers will love all the fabulous beauty treats in store at Urban Decay.”
The Urban Decay store will house the UD Lounge, which features a coffee bar and an interactive photo booth, as well as a “dude station” complete with an iPhone charger.
Based in Newport Beach, Urban Decay was created in 1996 by make-up expert Wende Zomnir, who has built a reputation based on the concept of “beauty with an edge.” The line of cosmetics features star products, such as the bestselling Naked Palettes and the legendary Makeup Setting Sprays. Urban Decay is popular among the youthful highly-involved cutting-edge consumers who are attracted by the fashion-forward, alternative image of the brand.
