Vilebrequin, the renowned men’s and boy’s swimwear manufacturer and international retailer, is opening its first Orange County store at Fashion Island this fall. The brand, worn by Hollywood elite including Jack Nicholson, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Affleck and Tom Cruise to name a few, will open a boutique next to Anthropologie, adjacent to Bloomingdale’s.
For more than 30 years, Vilebrequin has created stylish men’s and boy’s swim trunks with vibrant and colorful patterns. The Summer 2007 Vilebrequin collection is injected with whimsy and includes styles featuring hot air balloons, 50’s-era cars, a cornucopia of food including bananas, pastries and candy; a menagerie of animals including parrots, camels kangaroos, dogs, octopus and of course Vilebrequin’s turtle mascot. For the less daring, there are swim trunks in classic solids, stripes, and gingham in the collection. Prices range from $135-$210 depending on pattern and style.
Matching “Fathers and Sons” collections of swimsuits are also popular, and were recently purchased as a gift for Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott as a baby shower gift from Carmen Electra. Swim trunks for the little guy range from $85 – $115.
In addition to swimsuits, Vilebrequin also carries linen shirts and pants, t-shirts, sweaters, pants and shorts made in the finest cotton, plush towels, and 100% cotton boxers. Accessories include linen caps and stylish sunglasses.
