Western Asset Plaza Honored With Prestigious Toby Award

Downtown Pasadena Office Workplace Recognized As Best in Class in Commercial Real Estate

PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 16, 2014 — Western Asset Plaza, a premier office workplace located in the heart of downtown Pasadena, has won the prestigious The Outstanding Building of the Year award from the Greater Los Angeles Building Owners & Managers Association.

Western Asset Plaza won in Corporate Facility Category and now will advance to the regional TOBY Awards competition in spring 2015. Regional winners will have the opportunity to advance to the International TOBY Awards at the summer 2015 National BOMA convention at Los Angeles Center Studios.

The TOBY Awards are the most prestigious and comprehensive award of their kind in commercial real estate, recognizing quality office properties and excellence in office building management.

“Being recognized with a TOBY is an honor that speaks to the quality experience provided at Western Asset Plaza,” said Beau Rawi, regional senior leasing director for Irvine Company Office Properties. “This award reinforces Western Asset Plaza as a premier business address that enhances the corporate identity of our customers.”

Western Asset Plaza is a premier 5-story office community offering 270,000 square feet of striking customer workspaces. Amenities at Western Asset Plaza include onsite banking, a Ruth’s Chris Steak House, a stunning lobby, expansive terraces and a lushly landscaped outdoor plaza and courtyard with abundant people spaces.

Customers at Western Asset Plaza enjoy one of the best settings in Southern California.

More than 60 retailers and restaurants are located across the street at upscale, open-air shopping center Paseo Colorado. The annual Rose Parade runs directly alongside Western Asset Plaza on famed Colorado Boulevard. The Metro Gold Line Light rail station is a short walk from the property and links Pasadena with the rest of Los Angeles County.

“BOMA is thrilled to have a building of the stature of Western Asset Plaza advance to the regional level for a chance to vie for the international title,” said BOMA Greater Los Angeles President Michele Ware. “This is one of the highest honors in commercial real estate.”

Western Asset Plaza won the TOBY Award after being judged on building quality and condition, amenities, renovations, energy conservation, community involvement, preventive maintenance, policies and procedures, staff, training, and emergency preparedness.
