Winter At Pelican Hill Brings Seasonal Dining Experiences For Romantics, Epicureans And Sports Enthusiasts

From a Valentine’s Dinner of the Senses and Golfers’ Breakfast of Champions, to Andrea’s Tuscan Food & Wine Festival and Coliseum Pool & Grill’s Beer-Maker’s Dinner, Pelican Hill® presents a variety of winter Epicurean Experiences. Whether it’s Big Screens, Big Burgers & Big Brews at Pelican Grill for sports viewing, or Live Music, Small Plates & Chilled Prosecco in the Great Room for live music, an array of casually chic dining and entertainment options awaits locals and Resort guests alike along the coast of Newport Beach.

Tuscan Wine & Food Festival (Andrea)
January
Tuscan cuisine, considered the heart of the culinary Renaissance, is the specialty of Andrea. With a special a la carte menu, Chef Luca pairs the traditions of Northern Italy with Southern California’s freshest and finest locally grown ingredients from The Irvine Ranch. Enjoy the original dishes of Firenze and rustic pastas from the hills of Chianti. From the hearty meats of central Maremma to delicious seafood from seaside Viareggio, explore a la carte creative dishes from every corner of Tuscany. The variety will inspire you to return time and time again to Newport Coast for a taste of Tuscany!

Dinner of the Senses (Coliseum Pool & Grill)
Valentine’s Weekend: February 10-14, 2011
An intimate and sensual dining experience, Pelican Hill’s popular Dinner of the Senses stimulates each of the five senses of sight, touch, taste, scent and sound. The five-course menu for two, served in a private Coliseum Cabana, allows each course to be eaten by hand without the use of utensils, tapping the desire to nourish one another and share cherished moments together. Customized music, flowers and décor are available upon request. Advance reservations strongly recommended.

Andrea and Valentino, a romantic union created in Venezia! Savor a spectacular Lovers’ Menu, designed by Luca Cesarini, Andrea Chef di Cucina. Rated one of the "Top 50 Most Romantic Restaurants in the U.S." by the OpenTable Diners’ Choice Awards, Andrea offers a delectable rustic Tuscan menu and exquisite selection of Italian wines on a heated ocean-view terrace.

La Dolce Valentine’s (Caffé)

Pastry Chef Jeff creates traditional and modern Valentine’s treats and winter sweets. Surprise your loved one with artistic chocolates, colorful macaroons, fruity tarts, classic cookies, delectable confections, exquisite European pastries, mouthwatering sorbets and seasonal gelatos. Coliseum Beer-Maker’s Dinner (Coliseum Pool & Grill)

The Coliseum Pool & Grill, at Pelican Hill Resort®, partners with Southern California brew master, Karl Strauss. Chef Marc pairs a custom five-course menu to our full flight of five hand-crafted draft beers. Karl Strauss brew masters, alongside Chef Marc, will narrate the entire dining experience, masterfully pairing the flavors of brew and food.

Primavera in Firenze (Andrea)

As early spring arrives in Newport, Chef Luca takes you away to Firenze in the heart of Tuscany. On this culinary journey through Firenze and the surrounding hill towns of Tuscany, savor regional dishes with seasonal ingredients, such as spring peas, radishes, artichokes, asparagus and morel mushrooms.

Ladies delight in Andrea’s light lunch selections, including hand-made gluten-free pastas, fresh fish and seasonal Irvine Ranch ingredients. For a brief social or business lunch, select a three-course menu served in 30 minutes for $30 per person, with a complimentary Andrea Bellini!
Big Screens, Big Burgers & Big Brews (Pelican Grill)

January – March
Cheer on your favorite sports teams and catch every exciting victory on two giant 9-foot HDTV screens at Pelican Grill, Newport Coast’s Sports Center. Customize your big burger with Kobe-style beef, Oregon Snake River veal, or pasture-grazed turkey. Top it off with artisan cheeses and your other favorites, plus garlic parmesan frits and big chilled brews!

Golfers’ Breakfast of Champions (Caffé Due)
January – March
An energizing golfer’s breakfast is a good start to a great round at Pelican Hill Golf Club. Stop by Caffé Due next to the Pro Shop to satisfy your morning appetite with quick, delicious a la carte selections, including classic breakfast burritos, hot breakfast sandwiches, hearty bagels, refreshing fruits, chilled yogurts, steel-cut oatmeal, seasonal soups, hot coffees and Bloody Mary cocktails.

Seasonal Hotel Harvest Menu (Coliseum Pool & Grill)

Freshly picked from the Irvine Ranch, an abundant variety of locally grown farm-fresh winter products are featured in a special a la carte menu created by Chef Marc and Chef Amy. This ranch-to-resort menu brings to your table the best of the Orange County’s nutritious, natural ingredients, including Irvine Ranch avocados, strawberries and beets.

Every Friday and Saturday evening, enjoy performances at 8:30 & 10:30 p.m. in the Great Room.
