Woodbridge Village Center in Irvine hosts community open house on April 16

The public can get a sneak peek at what’s in store for the iconic retail center thanks to a $30 million reinvestment from Irvine Company

IRVINE, Calif. (April 5, 2016) — The community is invited to get a first look at the $30 million reinvestment plans for Woodbridge Village Center in Irvine at an open house on Saturday, April 16 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Brought to life through a 3-D model and renderings, Irvine Company retail representatives will be on hand to answer questions about the transformational plan to upgrade Woodbridge Village Center’s retail, dining and entertainment mix.

Experience how the new plan will complement longtime favorites and new merchants, reinvigorate the center’s architecture with a warm coastal California feel, and create an expansive outdoor “front porch” setting for dining, relaxing and community gatherings that overlooks North Lake.

The community gathering spot with its expanded views will be created by the removal of a two-story, mixed-use building at the heart of the center. The makeover will reduce Woodbridge Village Center’s overall square footage by nearly 15,000 square feet.

Since it opened in 1979, Woodbridge Village Center has been a cherished amenity for Woodbridge residents and others throughout Irvine and Orange County.

“We’re excited to show the community the reinvestment plans for Woodbridge Village Center as we begin this highly anticipated project,” said Dave Moore, president of Irvine Company Retail Properties. “Our goal is to expand and enhance the center’s outdoor gathering spaces and create the city’s ‘front porch’ – a place where residents and families come together to shop, dine, relax and enjoy outdoor entertainment.”

The open house will be held in one of the center’s storefronts across from Champagne French Bakery Café.  Please look for the sneak peek windows and the new Woodbridge Village Center signage.

Reinvestment work is set to begin in August 2016, with a scheduled completion in the second half of 2017.
