Woodbury Town Center will host an opening celebration by kicking off a Music on the Green Series on Sunday, July 8 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day of family fun will include face painting, kids crafts, a balloon artist, in-store promotions, product sampling, and live music at 1 p.m.
In addition, customers who spend $35 or more at any store or restaurant in Woodbury Town Center that day can redeem their receipts to receive a free fleece roll-up stadium blanket, one per household, while supplies last. On July 8, The Counter, a gourmet hamburger restaurant opening soon, will sell mini burgers for 50 cents, with all proceeds benefiting the Kiwanis Club.
The festivities also mark the start of Woodbury’s much-anticipated Music on Green Series, which will take place between 1 and 4 p.m. on July 8 and will continue every Sunday afternoon in July. The community can enjoy the free musical entertainment on the Woodbury Cafes lawn, adjacent to the center courtyard complete with outdoor seating and a fountain.
The first concert on July 8 will feature Mark Woods and the Parrothead Band, a Jimmy Buffet tribute band. During all four concerts, a beer and wine garden for adults will be provided by Kiwanis Club of Irvine, with all net proceeds going to Kiwanis.
On July 15, Bonne Musique Zydeco will entertain the crowd with Cajun New Orleans-style music; on July 22, Pete Jacobs and His Wartime Radio Revue will take the stage with big band swing music; and the concert series will close out on July 29 with Hot August Nights, a Neil Diamond tribute band.
