Irvine, California, September 17, 2008 – W’s China Bistro has opened its first location in Orange County at Harvard Place in Irvine. The restaurant, with acclaimed sister locations in the South Bay, is known for its classic Chinese dishes all set in a casual yet elegant atmosphere.
The menu offers dim sum starters, salads, soup and traditional entrees such as Kungpao Chicken, Steamed Salmon with Soy-lemon Sauce, Mongolian Beef, and Vegetables with Tofu and Shiitake Mushrooms. There is also an array of signature dishes such as Asian Paella, Seared Ahi Tuna and Waichun’s Beef Tenderloin. A variety of rice and noodle dishes, vegetable dishes, and tantalizing home-made desserts add to the variety of menu offerings. A wine list of more than 100 California wines complement the dishes.
W’s China Bistro is the brainchild of brothers Fernando, Roberto and Marcelino Chong, owners of the Ws China Bistro in Redondo Beach, the China Grill restaurant in Manhattan Beach and the various Chong’s restaurants in the South Bay. The brothers were born to Chinese parents, but as their names suggest, their roots are deeply Latin. All three were born in Cuba, immigrating as toddlers to Peru where they were raised. They have lived in Southern California for more than 30 years.
W’s China Bistro is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 10 p.m.; Friday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 10 p.m.; Saturday from noon until 10:30 p.m.; and Sunday from noon until 9 p.m.
W’s China Bistro is located in Harvard Place at 17585 Harvard Ave., off Main St., in Irvine. The restaurant can be reached at (949) 757-1588.
