Zov’s Neighborhood Café at Orchard Hills Village Center® is celebrating its first anniversary by hosting a fun-filled afternoon for the community, while raising money for the CHOC Children’s Foundation.
The Laker Girls will make a special appearance on Sunday, February 15, from 3 to 5 p.m., while children can enjoy Choco Bear cookie decorating, a popcorn machine, face painting, balloon making, opportunity drawings and a special appearance by Choco Bear. In addition, there will be a Heart Healthy cooking demonstration by Zov’s owner and acclaimed chef Zov Karamardian, and an educational talk on diabetes and children, with demonstration with different food and how much sugar is in each. The presentation will be given from an expert from the Diabetes Clinic at CHOC.
The event is $15 per adult, including food, a beverage and one opportunity drawing ticket, and free for children 7 and under. Appetizers will include healthy Mediterranean favorites such as Dolmas (grape leaves filled with Jasmine rice), Mediterranean Chicken Kabobs with Pomegranate; Grilled Eggplant Bruscetta and Crumbled Feta; Lahmehjuhn Flatbread with Minced Beef. Opportunity drawings will include a family dinner at Zov’s, Disneyland tickets, sports memorabilia and more.
