Award-winning burger concept The Cut set to open its first standalone location in Irvine

Named one of O.C.’s best food trucks, The Cut will bring its premium, all-natural and scratch-made burgers to Westpark Plaza this spring

IRVINE, Calif. (Feb. 16, 2017) Burger lovers soon won’t have to chase down their favorite food truck for their fix: The Cut has found its permanent new home in Irvine.

Deemed by local food critics as having one of Orange County’s best burgers, The Cut enjoyed a successful two-year run in a food truck before venturing to open its first brick and mortar location at Westpark Plaza.

“The Irvine community has supported us from day one with our concept and it makes perfect sense to open our first brick and mortar restaurant here,” said Steve Kim, who co-founded The Cut along with Charlie Burnette. “We’re always focused on putting out food that’s made from scratch with quality and freshness that is always a cut above the competition.”

When The Cut launched as a food truck in 2014, its mission was to deliver simple burgers without gimmicks and overly complicated toppings.  Kim and Burnette partnered with Michelin-trained Chef Andres Dangond and developed a straightforward menu of signature handcrafted burgers made with all-natural, certified-humane and free-range meats that are also hormone- and antibiotic-free.

“Burger purists will really appreciate the craftmanship of The Cut’s high-quality burgers,” said Easther Liu, chief marketing officer of Irvine Company Retail Properties.

Guests can continue to look forward to burger favorites like the Original Cut (an Angus beef brisket and chuck patty, American cheese, pickles and housemade Cut sauce) and the Savory Cut (with bacon relish, Swiss cheese, aioli and 3000 sauce, The Cut’s take on the classic Thousand Island dressing). Other must-tries include the Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger (with Pepperjack cheese, bacon, grilled and raw onions, aioli and honey sriracha sauce). There’s also The Cutlet, a fried, free-range Jidori chicken breast with lettuce and aioli.

Additional new menu items will include Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings, Serrano Ham Croquettes, Smoked Mac & Cheese, and desserts such as bread pudding. A selection of local craft beers and wine will also be available. A new weekend brunch will also make its debut.

The Cut will be at Suite 3831-C Alton Parkway in Irvine, next to Dickey’s BBQ, near Big 5 Sporting Goods. It joins other stores and restaurants at Westpark Plaza including: Sprouts, MOD Pizza, Luna Grill, Cafe Rio Mexican Grill, Le Port Montessori School, Albertsons and more.
