Crossroads announces three new dining additions

The longtime neighborhood center in recent years has transformed into a bustling hub for the Irvine community

IRVINE, Calif. – (September 6, 2016) – Crossroads, one of Irvine Company’s oldest retail centers, has revamped itself with another wave of new dining concepts.

  • CAVA Grill will open its first Orange County location late fall – the fast-casual menu is focused on nourishing salads, vibrant grain bowls and hearty pitas, as well as housemade juices and other treats. Guests begin their order by selecting their choice of lettuce or grain base and adding a few of CAVA’s handcrafted dips and spreads. Next, customers pick a choice of protein (popular picks include the falafel and the spicy lamb meatballs). Finally, guests can choose lots of fresh veggie toppings and finish with a flavorful sauce drizzle. CAVA will be located next to Cookie Connection.
  • Inchin Bamboo Garden opens its first Southern California location in January 2017. The pan-Asian restaurant offers “feel good” street food with an upscale environment. The vast menu will feature dishes inspired by signature culinary hits from countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Singapore, India and more. The Chicken 65 is a must try, a delectable chicken curry appetizer with Indian spices cooked Chinese style. Additionally, Inchin Bamboo Garden will have a full bar and serve craft cocktails. Inchin Bamboo Garden will be next to L.A. Fitness.
  • Paris Baguette, a well-regarded Korean bakery and café chain known for its gorgeous party cakes and pastries, is set to open in January 2017. Guests can expect to find an eye-popping array of daily fresh baked breads, cakes, pastries, sandwiches and more. Unique and must-try treats include: the Sweet Potato Cake, filled with creamy sweet potato paste and studded with fluffy cubes of vanilla cake. The Blueberry Chiffon cake is another signature offering: a triple layer of soft and spongey purple-hued cake with fresh cream and blueberries, frosted with smooth whipped cream and topped with artful dollops of lemon curd and fresh blueberries. Paris Baguette will be next to Capital Noodle Bar.

The three new restaurants join other notable recent openings at Crossroads. Since opening its first Orange County location in 2013, Urban Plates has drawn lines of eager diners wrapping around the length of the restaurant. Fast-forward three years and the scene hasn’t changed much for the popular, modern cafeteria-style eatery specializing in scratch-made salads, hot plates and desserts.

“Urban Plates has been such an incredible success story and is really what ushered in a new era for Crossroads,” said Easther Liu, chief marketing officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “When they first opened, they had lines out of the door by 11:30 a.m. and today, it’s still the same case.”

The successful launch of Urban Plates was soon followed by the opening of Creamistry, Orange County’s first liquid nitrogen ice cream concept that has since grown to become one of the fastest-growing ice cream shops in the country with more than 20 locations in California, Arizona, Texas – and counting. Capital Noodle Bar, the hip and modern offshoot from the upscale chain that is Capital Seafood Restaurant, also opened its first Orange County outpost at Crossroads.

“We are really proud that our neighborhood centers attract such first-rate, first-to-market concepts,” said Liu. “It really demonstrates how influential and trendsetting our communities are.”

Other recent openings include Cookie Connection, DonerG Turkish & Mediterranean Grill, Barefoot Bowls, Love & Lace Bridal Boutique, Amazing Lash and more.

Crossroads is at the corner of Culver Drive and Barranca Parkway.
