Honey & Butter to open its first retail store at Irvine Spectrum Center

Known for its whimsical and delicate French macaron pastries, Honey & Butter expands its O.C. presence with a brick & mortar location.

IRVINE, Calif.  (January 8, 2016) – Honey & Butter, makers of adorable cartoon character macaron confections, are bringing their intricately detailed, Instagram-worthy creations to Irvine Spectrum Center in Spring 2016.

“Honey & Butter really take their macaron craft to the next level,” said Easther Liu, chief marketing officer for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “The macarons are almost too cute to eat.”

In addition to traditional round-shaped French macarons in signature flavors such as Sea Salted Caramel, French Toast, Milk & Honey, Cookie Butter and Nutella, more unique and seasonal flavors such as Yuzu, Carrot Cake and Taro, are available, too.

Honey & Butter’s specialty creature macarons are crafted in distinctive macaron shells shaped into assorted animal forms. The creatures vary daily and span a variety of themes, from pandas and underwater sea creatures to delectable homages to characters from Harry Potter to Star Wars and even Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

“Our macarons are made with love, experience and great quality ingredients,” said Leanne Pietrasinski. “We use buttercream as opposed to white chocolate in our fillings and because of that our flavors are less sweet and more pronounced. We also have our own recipe for our macaron shells, which contain less sugar than other recipes.”

New to the menu for the Irvine Spectrum Center location will be Honey & Butter’s creature macaron ice cream sandwiches. Prices for regular macarons will be $2 and $2.50 and up for creature macarons or larger or more complex character cartoons. Honey & Butter also welcomes custom-orders.

Honey & Butter will be located at 633 Spectrum Center Drive.
