Opa!’s Modern Mediterranean Feeds Demand at Santa Clara Square Marketplace
The popular Bay Area eatery marks its eighth location this month, serving its California-tinged Greek fare and famed fresh Sangria. Opa!
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (July 11, 2017) — Cornering the South Bay market with its hallmark Cal-Greek fare, Opa! Authentic Greek has opened its latest restaurant in Santa Clara Square Marketplace. Hailed for its wholesome salads, shared meze and signature main plates, the family-owned business now has eight locations.

Named for the ballyhooed Greek phrase used during celebrations, the Opa! Atmosphere is indeed festive, featuring a full bar and signature cocktails including its house Sangria made with red-wine soaked fruit, a Fig Mojito and a Thyme and Citrus Gin Fizz to name a few. It’s the ideal backdrop for a fast casual lunch, happy hour and dining service. Brunch is also a draw for Baklava Waffles, a Breakfast Pita and Gyro Hash & Eggs.
Highlights from the dizzying menu include Greek Nachos where pita chips are topped with gyro meat or grilled chicken, tzatziki, veggies and the Greek rendition of guacamole; addictive Fiery Feta Dip with roasted peppers; a Greek Beet Salad with roasted beets, skordalia and feta; and hearty entrees like Pasticio, Moussaka and Kokinisto Me Manestra, a slow-roasted braised lamb shank.
Save room: The last course nails it for sweet lovers. There’s a Baklava Sundae, the house-made delicacy topped with whipped ricotta, caramel, nuts and honey; a Greek yogurt parfait with fresh fruit and honey drizzle; and Boughasta, featuring phyllo dough layered with sautéed apples and cream cheese.
In addition to Opa!, the restaurant group owns Mo’s Burger Joints, Willard Hicks steakhouses and its first Tac-Oh Mexican restaurant is set to open in San Jose.
