The Anaheim Ducks hockey team brings their holiday spirit to The Market Place with three holiday tree displays and family-fun activities
Irvine, CA – November 2014 – The Anaheim Ducks, will kick off the holiday season with three specially designed holiday trees at The Market Place this year. Shoppers, families and friends will be invited to join in on the festivities and check out the trees decorated by the Ducks team, as well as a meet-and-greet with an Anaheim Ducks player during the kick-off weekend with family-fun activities.
The “DUCK the Halls” merriment begins on Thursday, November 20, 2014 with the Ducks Game Watch Party from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Join a special guest from the Ducks team to watch that evening’s game against the Vancouver Canucks live on a giant screen in the Edwards theater parking lot. The Ducks player will be joined by the mascot, Wild Wing, along with the Ducks Street Team and Power Players for meet and greets, giveaways and games with attendees. Pre-game festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. and the puck drops at 7:00 p.m.
“We are thrilled to bring O.C.’s favorite hockey team to The Market Place this holiday season,” said Stacie Ellis, senior director of marketing for Irvine Company Retail Properties. “This is the first time the Anaheim Ducks will join us for the holidays and we can’t wait for our guests to have some extra special holiday fun with the team.”
Families can enjoy the three, 35-foot trees that will twinkle to life for the holiday season. Inspired by the Ducks team, the three trees will each capture a separate element of the local hockey favorites: The Market Place will debut a Fan Tree, a Team Tree and a Wild Wing Tree complete with thousands of custom ornaments themed specifically for the Ducks and a one-of-a-kind, three-foot-tall glowing Wild Wing-inspired tree topper.
Each weekend, from November 29 – December 20, guests will be invited to enjoy strolling entertainment and special holiday activities for kids from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. In addition, a Ducks-inspired photo backdrop, designed to look like you’re sitting beside the Ducks players on their bench during a game, offers families a great way to capture the “DUCK the Halls” fun. There will also be weekly giveaways stationed by the three holiday trees for amazing prizes including family four-packs of tickets to a Ducks game and a $500 The Market Place gift card.
Families can enjoy the holiday trees through January 4, 2015.
